Uji Efek Antihiperglikemik Ekstrak Etanol Daun Karamunting (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk.) Asal Kabupaten Bulukumba Terhadap Mencit (Mus musculus) Yang Diinduksi Glukosa

This study aims to determine the antihyperglycemic effect of ethanol
extract of karamunting leaf (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Aiton) Hassk.) from
Bulukumba region to mice that induced by glucose. Mice used as many as
15 were divided into 5 groups. This study was conducted 3 steps
measurement of blood glucose level, that was the first measurement of
blood glucose level before treatment was given, glucose level after
induced by glucose 50% w/v, and the measurement of glucose level after
treatment was given that was giving Na.CMC 1% w/v as negative control
group, group II, III, and IV each given suspension of karamunting leaf
extract with concentration 0,03%, 0,06% and 0,12% b/v, and for positive
control group was given suspension of glibenclamide 0,002% w/v.
Glucose level was measured by using Glucometer. The results showed
that ethanol extract of karamunting leaf with concentration 0,03%, 0,06%
and 0,12% b/v could give antihyperglycemic effect with percent decrease
of blood glucose level respectively 41,95%, 52,61% and 64,07%.
Karamunting leaf extract at 0,12% w/v showed the best effect of
antihyperglycemic to mice, but glibenclamide suspension still had a better
effect of decreased blood glucose by 82,16%.
