Abstract

One of the nutritional problems that often occurs in pregnant women is
Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK). KEK conditions in pregnant women can affect
the birth weight of the baby being born. In addition to affecting the quality of
babies born, mothers with CED can also cause death in children who are born and
also maternal death.
This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive analysis
design with a cross sectional approach. The location for data collection in this
study was carried out in the work area of the Kepi City Health Center, Mappi
Regency, Papua Province with a total population of 215 people. Primary data
collection in this study was by using a questionnaire which was distributed
directly to the respondents regarding the risk factors for chronic energy deficiency
in pregnant women. Then it was analyzed using the Chi Squared Test and Logistic
Regression to see how big the risk factors are for the incidence of CED
The results showed that there was a significant relationship between
maternal age, knowledge, pattern of consumption, parity, family income, support
from health workers, age of first pregnancy, consumption of Fe tablets, HB levels
in blood, history of infectious diseases and other variables Consumption of Fe
tablets had a very strong relationship. with the incidence of CED in pregnant
women in the Working Area of Kepi City, Mappi Regency, Papua Province.
Conclusion For the Kepi City Health Center, Mappi District, it is hoped that the
results of this study can increase the support of health workers in carrying out
