Efektivitas Ekstrak Daun Dadap Ayam (Erythrina variegata L.) Terhadap Pertumbuhan Streptococcus mutans

Research has been carried out on the effectiveness of the extract of Dadap Ayam (Erythrina variegata L.) leaves on the growth of Streptococcus mutans. This study aims to determine at what concentration the Leaf Extract of Dadap Ayam (Erythrina variegata L.) can provide the most optimal effect on Streptococcus mutans. This type of research using the agar diffusion method, the test material in the form of chicken dadap leaf extract with a concentration of 2 %w/v, 4%w/v, 6%w/v and 8%w/v and the test bacteria Streptococcus mutans. The study showed that Dadap Ayam Leaf extract was effective as an antibacterial in inhibiting the growth of Streptococcus mutans. 2% w/v of 13.83 mm, 4% w/v concentration of 18.3 mm, 6% w/v concentration of 25.63 mm , the concentration of 8% w/v was 27.56 mm and for positive control it was 32.56 mm, negative control was about 6 mm. The most effective was at a concentration of 8% w/v with an average zone of inhibition of 27.56 mm. . The statistical test using SPSS 24 based on Analysis of Variance (ANAVA) showed a significant (significant) difference between treatments at the level of P = 0.000 <0.05. Conclusions Dadap ayam leaves are effective as antibacterial against Streptococcus mutans and the most effective concentration is 8% w/v.
