Research on the antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of Binahong Merah (Bassela rubra Linn) leaves against Escherichia coli has been carried out using the Bioautography method. The method used in this research is TLC Bioautography. The TLC results showed that the n-Butanol extract did not inhibit Escherichia coli bacteria. Ether extract was able to inhibit Escherichia coli bacteria with zones of inhibition of 9.2 mm, 8.5 mm, and 9.0 mm respectively by Bioautography method. Conclusion Ether extract can inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli characterized by the presence of a clear zone formed on the agar medium.
