Identifikasi Senyawa Alkaloid Infus Rambut Jagung (Zea mays L) Asal Walenrang Kabupaten Luwu Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan

Research has been done on Identification of Alkaloid Compounds On the
Hair of Corn (Zea mays L) Origin of the Walenrang Province South
Sulawesi using the KLTP method and FTIR Spectrophotometry.

The bioactive compounds were carried out by first extracting the sample
using the infusion method for 90 minutes then the obtained infusion was
evaporated using a vacuum rotary evaporator to obtain a thick extract.
Then proceed with the phytochemical screening test through a test tube
with Dragendorf reagent. The next step is identification using Preparative
Thin Layer Chromatography and Analysis using IR Spectrophotometry.
The results obtained that the best eluent was n-hexane - ethyl acetate in a
ratio (7:3). Isolation by KLTP method obtained 1 isolate (Fraction C) which
is thought to be an alkaloid compound from Rambut Corn with an Rf value
of 0.66. The results of the analysis using FT-IR spectrophotometry showed
the presence of specific groups, namely the NH group (a wide and sharp
peak at wave number 3456.55 cm1
), carbonyl C = O at wave number
1713.81 cm-1
, symmetric aliphatic -CH strain (wave number 2991.69 cm-
1), aromatic ring at wave number 1635.69 cm-1
, NO2 stretch is symmetrical
(wave number 797.75 cm-1
) and the presence of CO stretch (wave number
1091.75 cm-1
). Based on the results of the analysis using FT-IR
spectrophotometry, it is suspected that Fraction C is a group of alkaloid
compounds, this is supported by the results of screening tests where this
fraction gives a positive color.
