Abstract

Research has been conducted on the Analysis of Nicotine Levels
from Tobacco Leaf Extract (Nicotiana Tabacum) Derived from Tana Toraja
Regency by Ultraviolet Spectrophotometry. The purpose of this study was
to determine the nicotine content in dried tobacco leaf extract (Nicotiana
tabacum) originating from North Toraja. Based on the results of the
qualitative analysis indicated that the extract of Tobacco Leaves (Nicotiana
tobacum) contains Nicotine compounds. The results of quantitative
analysis obtained levels of respectively 3.8013 mg/100gram, 3.8240
mg/100gram and 3.7891 mg/100gram. So that the average nicotine
content obtained in the tobacco leaf extract is 3.8048 mg/100gram.
