The research problem is: "How is the camat's leadership style in improving employee performance at the girlfriend's office, West Manggarai Regency. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, documentation. While the data analysis used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the study indicate that in improving the performance of employees, the leader applies the theory of situational leadership and combines it with a democratic leadership style. And this can be seen from the participatory decision-making process that always involves subordinates, the delegation of authority that has been determined, work supervision, and communication that exists between leaders and subordinates. Performance appraisals at these agencies apply a situational leadership style where the performance appraisal process gives more responsibility to employees as a form of trust in subordinates. In addition, in the District of girlfriend leaders are led to provide motivation to overcome obstacles that can affect employee performance, one of which is obstacles that arise both internally and externally.
